Water4Food 2012, March 22nd presented by IDE and Cardgnome

International World Water Day is Thursday, March 22. We’re thrilled to announce that iDE, in partnership with Card Gnome and Green Spaces, is hosting Denver’s World Water Day event, Water4Food 2012, and we want you to be a part of it! Here’s how you can help:

A Day of Service
Throughout the day, we’ll be mobilizing volunteers to help spread the word and generate
awareness about water and its relationship to food security, the theme of this year’s United
Nation’s World Water Day.  If you can spend a couple of hours (or even a day) talking to local
businesses and spreading the word, we encourage you to join us. All Water4Food 2012
volunteers will receive an invitation to the World Water Day Denver event at Green Spaces.
Denver’s World Water Day Event
We’re hosting a fundraiser party on March 22nd at Green Spaces, Denver’s hub for sustainable
businesses. The event will feature a keynote address from Bill Capsalis, a recognized expert in
marketing strategy and practice who advises startup companies as the program manager for
natural, organic and LOHAS companies at the Boulder Innovation Center. There will also be a
silent auction of indigenous artwork, music, food and drinks.
Help a Family in West Africa
Water4Food 2012 draws Denver into a critical issue now being faced in the Sahel region of West
Africa: food security. When you purchase a Water4Food 2012 greeting card plan at Card Gnome,
50% will be sent to iDE, whose programs will provide families in the Sahel region of West Africa
with the tools and knowledge needed to access water for irrigation, enabling them to increase
their income and stay out of poverty. The first 200 people to purchase a Water4Food greeting
card plan will also receive an invitation to the Water4Food 2012 fundraiser party on March 22nd.
